The appointment will be on UCL Grade . The salary range will be Grade 7: £38,581 - £41,864 per annum Grade 8: £43,023 - £50,753 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The Slade School of Fine Art is an art school with a world leading reputation where staff and students approach the practice of contemporary art, and the history and theories that inform it, in an experimental, research-oriented and imaginative way.
We are seeking a Lecturer in Taught Courses in History & Theory of Art to deliver high-quality research, teaching to BA and MA Fine Art students, and academic administration, with a teaching focus to cover core areas and themes in the History and Theory of Art, and other areas based on their own research. We would particularly welcome applicants who can demonstrate cross-cultural awareness in their own research, including global and culturally diverse art history and theory, and contribute to teaching and research in non-canonical, global and culturally diverse art and/or topics in pre-20th century art history.
This appointment is available from 1 September 2018 and is full-time, although job share, part-time and other flexible working may be considered.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant subject, excellent working knowledge of contemporary and 20 th century art history and theory, and an interest in, and commitment to, working alongside artists in a practice-led, research environment and an active involvement with contemporary art.
